• Torrix is the lastest Steve Harrison designed  Carp Rod series. It utilises new tapers and new materials to produce fantastic performance at low diameter and weight. The butt and tip utilise two different carbon fibres in the zero axis to achieve low down casting power with forgiving no lock-up characteristics in the middle and tip. At ninety degrees is a ribcage of super lightweight carbon which controls the rod in compression. How the carbon performs in compression is as important in a bending rod as the way the fibres perform in tension.

• Chimera has been our best selling Harrison range for some time. It introduced the two weave concept to the carp market, which both aids performance and looks. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, this rod has been seriously flattered as it has been copied time and time by other companies. The looks are not so hard to copy but the action is a bit trickier. The Chimera is a forgiving rod compared to some on the market yet it casts as well as many stiffer rods, but has the elasticity to soak up any last lunges of a big fish close in.

• Ballista is our most famous carp rod and small changes over the years have kept it in the frame. Very slim with more action in the butt than our other rods the Ballista remains a very firm favourite for medium range fishing, though the wide range of tests curves include the legendary 12’ 3.50lb model which produces awesome distance.

The VXR

Designed by legendary big carp catcher and two times World Champion Steve Briggs, the VXR is the Aston Martin of carp rods. Fed up of seeing cheap poor performance blanks on the market, Venture contacted the best rod builder in the game - Steve Harrison of Harrison Advanced rods in the UK - and asked him to build the best product he could to our specifications, and hey presto, this incredible rod was born!
Based on the best selling Torrix blank with extra carbon wraps, the VXR is 12ft 6in and available in two high performance ratings. The VXR-1 is the lighter version at 3¼lb whilst the VXR-2 is stepped-up to 3¾lb for the longer range angler. Both rods have been punished during field-trials; tested at incredible venues like Rainbow Lake and Lac de St Cassien, and both most certainly are worthy of being the flagships of the 2007 Venture range.

The Venturis V1 & V2

The Venturis range is available in two performance ratings. The V1 is a 12ft 3lb model that features five rings from 40mm butt to 12mm tip ring and is powerful enough for PVA bag work but is still forgiving enough for margin work and playing fish under the tip.

Outkast

The Chub Outkast was the first in a line of a new generation of Chub Carp rods. These are built using all the latest in-house technology and also utilise the most up-to-date carbon processes never available before in rods of this price range.

Designed to cover all aspects of Carp fishing, the rods are available in four test curves from 2.5lb to 3.5lb. They feature lovely slim, lightweight yet extremely powerful performance driven blanks, which give a very minimal but modern look.

The Outkast features five double legged SIC guides and tip ring, screw lock reel seat and abbreviated handle with a Japanese shrink-wrap butt grip, plus carbon line clip. During testing the Outkast exceeded all expectations revealing a smooth progressive action but with plenty of power for long casting, achieving some phenomenal distances yet still retaining a superb playing action capable of handling big fish.
