Weed Rake 1
Designed specifically for taking the edges off of weed beds and creating channels in the weed to provide access to all important hotspots and improve line lay in the area of the rig.

The following are basic guidelines when using the weed rakes:

1. Use at least 40 lbs braid mainline and a lighter nylon link near the rake. 2. Use a spod rod and powerful reel. 3. Ensure the area being raked is clear of significant snags the rake may catch on. A good search around with a marker rod will reveal any potential problem areas. 4. When removing weed, do so from the edges of the bed. A rake cast into the centre of a big weed bed may lock up.

The unhooking mat has been some considerable time in design. We have gone through countless samples and tried numerous new concepts. We discounted cradle designs as we have seen nightmare scenarios where people struggle with them during trophy shots, getting the net free etc or think it is acceptable to leave fish secured why they run off to get their mates!!! Not strictly a rake this new addition to the range was inspired by the fact people were raving about the sensitivity WR2 was giving them when they used it as a marker lead. The only problem being with the prongs being so pronounced it was getting easily caught up in the weed. This feature finder solves that problem whilst giving you all the sensitivity of the hard steel finish that ensures all the vibration is transmitted through the braid to the angler. With practice you will be able to feel the depth and consistency of silt and identify the smallest of gravel patches that would normally be missed using a lead based product. It is shaped to ensure the heavy end keeps in contact with the bottom and the fins ensure it is both stable in flight and whilst transmitting it’s signal back to the angler. A rake that we have kept under our hats since early last year. In testing it proved a revelation and those that have seen it working begged for samples they are that useful. It has an obvious use of removing surface weed to clear an area for good presentation but we have found it to have various other applications. It is excellent on rivers, canals and drains when you want to remove floating debris from the margins and the perfect tool for removing that drifting debris you can get on lakes at any time of the year. Simply clip it on to your spod rod and you can intercept that drifting weed before it crashes into your lines and ruins your presentation. We call it the floater but it actually has a neutral buoyancy. Keep the rod tip high and it stays on the surface. Sink the tip and it sinks, picking up midwater weed, perfect for intercepting large areas of the stuff. Get the grey matter working and you can think of numerous more subtle applications – I will give you one. How about creating a clear area feeding spot in the weed to present your floaters? Moulded from high impact nylon they are indestructible and although just under a couple of ounces they can easily be cast 50 yards. Made in England.
